1.- Arrest warrant and extradition
• If Mexico issued an arrest warrant and requested an Interpol alert, you could be detained in the U.S.
• Mexico and the U.S. have an extradition treaty, so if the crime is serious (homicide, kidnapping, drug trafficking, corruption, etc.), U.S. authorities could arrest and extradite you.
2.- Cooperation between authorities
• If Mexico requests your extradition and the U.S. approves it, you will be arrested and taken to trial in Mexico.
• If the crime is minor, it is less likely that the U.S. will carry out an extradition, but you could still be deported.
In these cases, my recommendation is to seek a criminal defense attorney to provide you with proper legal advice.
