If you are placed under house arrest in Mexico and sell your house, you are not set free

House arrest is a precautionary measure or a form of serving a sentence in which the judge orders the person to remain at a specific residence (usually their home) instead of being in prison.

That specific address is registered with the judicial authority, and you are legally obligated to stay there for the duration of the measure.

If you sell the house, you are not released from the measure; instead, you must inform the judge and request authorization to change your residence.

If you move or leave the address without judicial permission, it is considered a violation of the precautionary measure, and the judge may revoke it, ordering your return to prison.

In summary:

👉 Selling the house does not mean freedom.
👉 You must request judicial authorization to change the place of house arrest.
👉 If you don’t, you risk sanctions or even losing the benefit.
